How To Become A Superior Thinker And Predict Your Future

‘For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy one of Israel, I returning and rest shall ye be saved: in quietness and I confidence shall be your strength and ye would not’
(Is. 30:15)

Not thinking is responsible for most people’s failure. Many had abandoned their goals because they cannot think. If you cannot think, you cannot plan. If you cannot plan, you cannot succeed. Thinking generates great ideas. Ideas rule the world. If you want to be great and highly successful, you must renounce mental laziness and think.

Can you mention anything good in this modern, information age that did not come to being through thinking? Henry Ford was a great thinker. He gave the world moving machines popularly called automobiles today against all odds. The Wright brothers were great thinkers. They gave the world flying machines- the airplane despite the resistance and persecution they had to endure. Thinkers see beyond the present.
Bill Gates is a great thinker. He left medical school as a result of superior thinking. He was what all the professors in the medical school and science could not see in the seventies. He followed his idea about the future of the computer. What is the result of that? The information age. The PC is a common machine today in homes and offices. Without his superior thinking, such could not have been possible. His superior thinking has not only made him successful, it has made him the richest in the world since he was forty.
The more you are able to think, the better your life becomes. You change your lifestyle. You generate extraordinary ideas and get uncommon results. You suddenly become visible. People begin to see you as someone who can solve their problems.
Okay, this is my question to you. Do you think? If you are not thinking, you will be an under achiever. This write up is to make available to you simple steps you can take in order to start thinking instantly.

4 Great Steps To Powerful Thinking

Here are the four powerful steps to take today so you can start thinking your way to superior performance and extra ordinary achievement.
(1) Create A Quiet Place

(2) Create A Conducive Time

(3) Concentrate Your Thoughts

(4) Convert Your Ideas Into Implementable Action

Create A Quiet Place

This is very difficult for most people. You may find it easier to stay among people talking the whole day. Let me tell you the truth. You are wasting your life. Do everything possible to create a place where you can be alone daily and periodically. Once you identify the place, your subconscious mind will begin to work on you to take the next step.

Create A Conducive Time

Just creating a place will not get you there. You must find a time when you can be alone and be at ease with yourself. This time should be your best time of the day. While for some it is during the day, for others, it is at night. Set this time to be the time you concentrate mostly on anything you are doing.

Concentrate Your Thought

You will need a writing material to do this. I have never seen a tool as cheap and readily available as the common pencil and paper.
Write your thought down on pending issues during your time of concentration. The thoughts and ideas you generate become tangible. More stimulation will come to your mind to generate ways of bringing the ideas to pass.

Convert Your Ideas Into Implementable Action

The world will not know about the ideas you have if no step is taken to actualize it. Turn your ideas into simple plan and turn your plan into action. Do it one step at a time. This is how to become a superior thinker and predict your own future.

3 Vital Attributes Of A Superior Thinker

You could either be a superior thinker or an inferior thinker. A superior thinker gets great ideas and results. The opposite is the case for an inferior thinker. A superior thinker ends up being a philosopher whose postulations affect the present and future.
Let us consider the following Factors and how they contribute to superior thinking.

Consider The Consequence

A superior thinker thinks about the consequences of doing or not doing something. He is able to think accurately of the consequences of his actions.
Your actions and inactions matter. They are responsible for the results you get in any given circumstance. Better decisions are taken when you give due consideration to the anticipated results of your actions.

Think Long Term

Dr. Edward Banfield of Harvard University carried out a research for more than 50 years. In his conclusions, he remarked that ‘long term’ perspective is the most accurate single predictor of upward social and economic mobility in America. He reasoned that long term perspective turns out to be more important than family background, education, race, intelligence, connections or virtually any other factor in determining your success in life.
One impact of time horizon on your behaviour and choice is phenomenal. Take a long view of your life and career and you will make much better decision about your use of time and the activities you engage in. You will be ahead of other people who give very little thought to the future.

Have A Clear Future Orientation

Long-term thinking improves short-term decision-making. Successful people often have a clear future orientation. They know where they want to be. They know where they are going. They know why they are doing what they do. They think five, ten, and twenty years ahead into the future. Careful analysis of their choices and behaviour is their past time. They make sure that what they do in the present is consistent with the future they desire.
Brian Tracy gives a lucid explanation of the benefit of long-term thinking. Here him:
‘In your work, having a clear idea of what is really important to you in the long term makes it much easier for you to make better decisions about your priorities in the short term. By definition, something that is important has long-term potential consequences. Something that is unimportant has few or no long-term potential, beneficial consequences. Before starting on anything, you should always ask yourself, what are the potential consequences of doing or not doing those tasks’.
Future Intent Influences And Often Determines Present Actions
‘The clearer you are about your future intentions, the greater influence that clarity will have on what you do in the moment. With a long term vision, you are much more capable of evaluating an activity in the present and to ensure that it is consistent with where you truly want to end up.’
